First entry

Hello World. Just took my first hesitant steps into Blogspace, wherever that is. I have a feeling this blog is going to be mostly about literature, football, films, modern and contemporary art, espresso, married life, being a dad, being a teacher etc. God and postmodernism and whether they exist or not and what to do about it. Names like Bruce Cockburn, David Lodge, Karel Appel, Woody Allen, Michael Thomas (anybody remember him?), Tomas Tranströmer, not to mention Leo and Corinne (that's the family).

Then again, as one of John Irving's characters puts it (I think it's someone in "Hotel New Hampshire", does anybody out there know?) – "How should I know, I'm just playing Life by ear." Come see me again and you'll find out.
